My writing journey has been a winding and often melancholic path, one that began with a passion for poetry instilled in me during my school days. As I grew older, my love of words only deepened, fueled by hours spent reading travelogues in my evening armchair and devouring children's stories from the Encyclopedia Britannica. The more I read, the more I became enchanted with literature and history, and soon I found myself transported to far-flung lands and towns through the pages of books. Growing up in a rural hill town in Jamaica, surrounded by nature and warm-hearted people who lived off the land and sea, taught me the art of observation - how to appreciate the subtle nuances of life and find inspiration in the world around me. It was during these formative years that my writing seeds were sown, nurtured by my imagination and creativity. However, when I was just twelve years old, a devastating blow came when my teachers doubted my abilities, suggesting that my work was too good to be mine. The trauma of this experience silenced my creative voice for decades, forcing me to write in secret. But the words never truly disappeared - they accumulated over time, locked away in a virtual shoe box, waiting for their moment to shine. Now, with age and hindsight on my side, I've finally found the courage to set them free. Some of my published books, 'Time For You To Fly', 'A Christmas Daydream' and 'Remember Who Loved You First', are testaments to this newfound freedom and more works are on the horizon. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
